Tejashwi Yadav Critiques Nitish Kumar's Administration, Vows Welfare Initiatives if Elected in Bihar

Patna, Jan 7 (NationPress) Tejashwi Yadav, the Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Bihar Assembly and leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal, has condemned the Nitish Kumar-led NDA administration for its failure to tackle pressing issues such as poverty, migration, unemployment, and inflation that plague the state.

During a media briefing in Kaimur, Yadav claimed that the state government has ignored these challenges, leaving the impoverished citizens to suffer.

"For the past 20 years, Bihar has been under NDA governance, yet the poor continue to endure these hardships," asserted the LoP.

He elaborated on his party's agenda should they gain power, which includes numerous welfare initiatives intended to ease the economic burdens faced by the residents of Bihar.

According to him, inflation is adversely affecting ordinary families, particularly women, who are struggling to manage household expenses.

In response, the RJD has proposed the Mai Bahin Maan Yojana, which would provide Rs 2,500 in financial aid to every woman in the state.

The RJD leader insisted that this initiative would be launched within one month of forming the government to ensure economic justice for women.

Discussing the Mai Bahin Maan Yojana, Yadav stated, "This program is designed to deliver economic justice to women and provide immediate financial support to enhance their quality of life. It will be among our government’s top priorities post-election."

He also highlighted the exorbitant electricity rates due to smart meters, pledging to offer 200 units of electricity free of charge to each household.

Yadav's statements are part of his ongoing election campaign aimed at positioning his party as the answer to the enduring problems faced by Bihar's populace, with a strong emphasis on social and economic development.

He also shared plans to substantially increase pensions for senior citizens and widows if his party comes to power in the state.

"Currently, the Bihar government only provides Rs 400 per month, which is inadequate. We will elevate this amount to Rs 1,500 to deliver more substantial assistance to these vulnerable demographics," Yadav remarked.

In defense of his party's integrity, the LoP pointed out the RJD's accomplishments during its previous term.

"We have a solid history of keeping our promises. During our 17-month tenure, we created five lakh jobs and added another three lakh positions across various sectors," he emphasized.

Yadav accused the current administration of promoting corruption, especially in its land survey process.

"The land survey initiated by the Nitish Kumar government has increased corruption in the state. Instances of bribery in various departments have surged due to this flawed approach," he charged.

Tejashwi Yadav's commitments, including enhanced pensions, job creation, and tackling corruption, form part of his comprehensive strategy to position the RJD as a credible alternative to the NDA administration ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections slated for October or November 2025.
