Patna, March 8 (NationPress) In celebration of International Women's Day, the Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, Tejashwi Yadav, made a noteworthy declaration focused on enhancing the welfare of women in the state.
He pledged that should the RJD government regain power, they will implement the ‘Beti Programme’ aimed at promoting girls' education, training, and employment.
Explaining the acronym, he stated that B signifies Benefit, E stands for Education, T denotes Training, and I represents Income.
"When a daughter is born in Bihar, the state government will ensure all necessary resources are available for her to excel academically and gain employment. Daughters are the future of Bihar,” Yadav remarked.
He previously introduced the Mai Behen Maan Yojana, which will provide women in Bihar with Rs 2,500 monthly under this initiative to guarantee their financial stability.
He asserted that during the period when RJD was in power before 2005, they focused on the welfare of the underprivileged.
The RJD leader emphasized Lalu Yadav's commitment to elevating individuals from both backward and general categories, promising that if the RJD returns to power, they will continue to honor and uplift women.
Tejashwi Yadav launched a fierce criticism against Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, blaming him for the lack of industrial development and for ignoring the economic hardships faced by the impoverished.
“Since Nitish Kumar took office in 2005, no new factories have been established in Bihar. The soaring inflation has made survival a challenge for the poor,” he stated.
Yadav also accused Nitish Kumar and the NDA of attempting to tarnish Lalu Yadav's reputation rather than focusing on effective governance.
He assured that if the Mahagathbandhan assumes power, they will initiate new welfare schemes to uphold women’s dignity, increase honorariums for Jeevika Didis (women partaking in self-help groups), and secure regular employment for them.
This direct confrontation with Nitish Kumar signifies the RJD’s electoral strategy—emphasizing economic growth, women’s empowerment, and job generation.
The commitment to establish factories and elevate wages for female workers could be a strategic move to engage both the youth and women voters as the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections approach.
