Moreover, the NEC is backing the establishment of a potato seed farm utilizing tissue culture and apical rooted cuttings (ARC) technology. This project aims to guarantee the availability of high-quality planting materials, thereby strengthening agricultural value chains and boosting productivity among farmers.
Another noteworthy project is the creation of a central medical warehouse in Aizawl, designed to enhance medical logistics by optimizing the storage and distribution of essential medications and medical supplies throughout the state.
Furthermore, the NEC is facilitating the setup of a State Veterinary Information and Resource Centre, which is expected to improve veterinary services and support livestock development through better technical resources and efficient information dissemination.
The NEC is chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, with Union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region Jyotiraditya Scindia serving as its Vice-Chairman. The council comprises the Governors and Chief Ministers of all eight Northeastern states, functioning as a regional planning body.
