The workshop was a collaborative effort with the Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP) and the Mizoram government. It aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs across the North-Eastern states, with representatives from all eight states in attendance.

Through initiatives like the Mizoram Bana Kaih Handholding Scheme, we are transitioning from a welfare-oriented approach to one based on empowerment—where individuals are not merely beneficiaries but active participants in the state's advancement.”

“I encourage more women to take initiative, as their creativity and determination will shape Mizoram's future. The government is committed to supporting them in this journey towards economic and social change,” he added, urging them to take advantage of the program.

Lalnghinglova Hmar, the Minister of Labour, stated that the launch of WEP signifies a pivotal change in empowering women entrepreneurs.

“This initiative aims to ensure that our women entrepreneurs genuinely reap its benefits, unlocking fresh avenues for economic growth and self-sufficiency in the state,” he noted.
