Neemuch (Madhya Pradesh), July 1 (NationPress) The Kendriya Vidyalaya-1 in this town has experienced a significant transformation after being included in the PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya (PM SHRI) initiative.
The school's infrastructure has been thoroughly upgraded with modern amenities since its registration under this scheme. Students are now benefiting from enhanced educational opportunities, evidenced by their recently released academic results.
The institution achieved a remarkable 100 percent pass rate, with students attaining top ranks at the inter-state level in both 10th and 12th grades. As part of the PM-SHRI initiative, all classrooms have been converted into smart classes.
According to School Principal Priyadarshan Garg, who spoke with IANS, Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1 Neemuch was selected for the program in 2023, leading to a substantial improvement.
“Enhancements have been made across all school departments. Infrastructure and professional laboratory developments have been accomplished, while classrooms have been transformed into smart learning environments,” he elaborated.
In addition to the Innovation Council and System Education, the school is preparing to launch the Green Space Programme. Garg noted that following the school's inclusion in PM-SHRI, it recorded a historic 100 percent result.
“Currently, our school's performance index stands at 65. We aim to improve the quality of our results moving forward. I express my gratitude to the Prime Minister for including our school in this initiative,” he stated.
Students expressed their enthusiasm about the newly developed smart classrooms. Shubhangi Kumari, an 11th-grade student, shared that she achieved 93 percent in her 10th grade, noting that students now have access to superior facilities such as smart boards, digital learning tools, study materials, and additional classes.
Kanak Chauhan, a 12th-grade student, remarked on the improved ambiance of the school. “Now, teachers utilize digital boards for instruction. Numerous facilities have been upgraded, from classrooms to the library and playground,” she said.
Prablin Kaur, another 11th-grade student, highlighted that since joining the PM SHRI scheme, the school has also excelled in sports alongside academics. “Our school's hockey team has been selected for the national team for two consecutive years, winning medals. I am proud to be a member of the hockey team and have been selected for SGFI for the last two years,” she noted.
Aditya Nagda, a 12th-grade student, stated that both academic performance and sports facilities have improved significantly. “We are immensely grateful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this transformational initiative,” he added.
It is essential to mention that PM SHRI stands for ‘Prime Minister Schools for Rising India’. Launched by the Ministry of Education, the program aims to convert over 14,500 schools nationwide into model institutions that provide modern, holistic education.
