Neemuch (Madhya Pradesh), June 3 (NationPress) Numerous residents in this town of Madhya Pradesh are becoming self-sufficient by leveraging the PM Vishwakarma Yojana.

This initiative benefits not just urban youth but also those from rural backgrounds. Hundreds have successfully secured loans of Rs 1 lakh along with essential training. The main goal of this scheme is to provide traditional artisans and craftsmen with modern skills while also ensuring their financial stability.

Participants receive training for the first seven days and an honorarium of Rs 500 per day. Upon completing the training, they are awarded a toolkit worth Rs 15,000. The scheme also facilitates bank loans of up to Rs 1 lakh to help beneficiaries expand their businesses.

In Neemuch, a total of 34,052 applications were submitted, with 5,119 being approved at the state level. Banks sanctioned loans to 1,296 individuals, aggregating to Rs 10.80 crore.

Many beneficiaries of this scheme express their gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Samarth Sen, a salon owner from Palsoda village, stated, "I applied under the PM Vishwakarma Yojana and received a loan of Rs 1 lakh from the bank, which I used to purchase salon equipment. This scheme should persist to allow more youth to benefit from it. A big thank you to PM Modi for this initiative."

Prakash Chandra Suthar from Dhaneria Kala village shared, "I am in the furniture business and have also benefited from this scheme. The training I received, along with the loan, has significantly boosted my employment opportunities."

Rajesh Sen, another salon operator from Palsoda, mentioned that he had a small shop but expanded it thanks to the PM Vishwakarma Yojana.

“I received Rs 4,000 during the training phase, followed by a loan of Rs 1 lakh. The training taught me modern techniques for salon work, including cutting and shaving. Today, my family and I are content,” he remarked.

He emphasized that Prime Minister Modi has played a pivotal role in making them self-reliant.

It is noteworthy that the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana was inaugurated on December 17, 2023, coinciding with Vishwakarma Jayanti. This scheme aims to provide financial assistance and skill development training to countless individuals engaged in various traditional trades such as carpentry, blacksmithing, goldsmithing, pottery, tailoring, barbering, cobbling, sculpting, and toy making.
