Jaipur, April 15 (NationPress) The revised liquor prices announced by the Excise Department are now in effect throughout Rajasthan from today. These updated rates are applicable to all licensed liquor establishments within the state.

As per the official website of the Excise Department, the costs of various popular English liquor brands, including beer and whiskey, have seen an increase of up to 5 percent. Conversely, prices for certain brands have been decreased by an equivalent margin.

Most brands have experienced price adjustments ranging from Rs 15 to Rs 1500 compared to the previous year.

Retailers are instructed to visibly post the new price list at their shops and ensure liquor is sold strictly at the new maximum retail price (MRP).

The department has issued warnings of stringent measures against any infringements. Consumers can report instances of overcharging by retailers directly to the Excise Department.

According to Excise Commissioner Shivprasad Nakate, the updated rate list is publicly accessible on the department’s website. Customers can check the latest prices for Indian-made foreign liquor, beer, and other alcoholic drinks by clicking the “Approved Rate List” link found in the “Public Section” on the homepage.

The Excise Department Headquarters in Udaipur has officially unveiled the new pricing structure for the financial year 2025-26. Approximately 1,400 varieties of India-made liquor are available in Rajasthan, with most experiencing price fluctuations between 1 percent to 5 percent either up or down, as stated by Additional Director Pradeep Singh Sangawat.

With around 7,765 licensed liquor shops operating statewide, the Excise Department remains a crucial revenue source for the state government.

In the financial year 2024-25, it achieved a revenue collection of Rs 17,200 crore, making it the highest-earning department in Rajasthan.

However, vendors have expressed concerns that the profit margins on Indian-made foreign liquor have significantly decreased.
