New Delhi, July 26 (NationPress) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President J.P. Nadda on Saturday addressed the ‘Kargil Vijay Diwas Samaroh’ at the BJP headquarters in the capital, reaffirming the government's steadfast commitment to national security and robust responses to terror threats.
The gathering saw the participation of senior BJP leaders and retired military personnel who had valiantly served during the 1999 Kargil War. As part of the commemoration for the 26th anniversary of India's victory, Nadda honored the courage and sacrifices made by the Indian Armed Forces.
“Every year, we pay tribute to our courageous soldiers, their valor, and their ultimate sacrifice. We honor our immortal martyrs with heartfelt respect,” he expressed.
Reflecting on the 1999 conflict, Nadda recounted how Pakistani troops had infiltrated Indian positions in the Kargil, Drass, Batalik, and Tiger Hill sectors.
“Under the leadership of Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, our forces were given the order to reclaim every inch of our territory — and they succeeded, once again raising the Tricolour,” he noted.
Contrasting the past and present strategies, Nadda stressed that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has embraced a significantly more assertive approach.
“If a bullet is fired, a barrage will be retaliated. This is India’s new normal,” he asserted.
Highlighting surgical and air strikes following the Uri and Pulwama attacks, along with the ongoing Operation Sindoor after the Pahalgam incident, Nadda remarked, “India now engages by penetrating enemy territory and dismantling terror infrastructure. We will neither forgive nor forget.”
Furthermore, he emphasized India’s increasing self-reliance, mentioning that the nation now manufactures and exports bulletproof jackets. “Whether on land, sea, or air — India is prepared to respond,” he added.
Nadda concluded, “This is the India of Modi — bold, self-reliant, and unyielding to those who challenge it.”
