New Delhi, May 26 (NationPress) The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken a CRPF trooper into custody in Delhi for allegedly sharing sensitive data with officers from Pakistani Intelligence, according to an official announcement on Monday.

Moti Ram Jat was reportedly engaged in espionage activities and had been disclosing classified national security information to individuals in Pakistan since 2023, as stated by the anti-terror agency.

The NIA has traced the financial transactions he received from Pakistani agents through multiple channels, the agency revealed.

Following his arrest, the NIA presented Moti Ram Jat before a Special Judge at the Patiala House Courts, who then remanded him into the agency’s custody until June 6.

While requesting custody, the NIA informed the court that they needed to interrogate the CRPF trooper regarding individuals he had met.

Moreover, the investigators expressed their intent to travel to other cities with him to identify his alleged accomplices involved in espionage.

This arrest occurs in the wake of a broader crackdown by Indian authorities targeting Pakistani spies, which resulted in the recent apprehension of Haryana YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra and 11 others across Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh.
