New Delhi, Nov 16 (NationPress) In a significant development regarding the car bomb blast incident near the Red Fort, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has detained a resident from Kashmir who allegedly collaborated with the suicide bomber to orchestrate the terror attack on November 10, as reported by an official on Sunday.
The arrested individual, Amir Rashid Ali, is registered as the owner of the vehicle utilized in the attack. He was apprehended in Delhi following a comprehensive search operation initiated by the NIA after they took over the investigation from the Delhi Police, the official disclosed.
Investigations by the NIA indicated that the accused, who hails from Samboora, Pampore in Jammu and Kashmir, conspired with the alleged suicide bomber, Umar Un Nabi, to execute the terror strike.
Ali had traveled to Delhi to facilitate the acquisition of the vehicle, which was ultimately employed as a vehicle-borne Improvised Explosive Device (IED) to instigate the blast, according to the statement.
The NIA has conducted forensic analyses that confirmed the identity of the deceased driver of the vehicle-borne IED as Umar Un Nabi, a resident of Pulwama District and an Assistant Professor in the General Medicine Department at Al Falah University in Faridabad.
Furthermore, the anti-terror agency has seized another vehicle belonging to Nabi, which is currently undergoing scrutiny for evidence related to the case. To date, the NIA has interviewed 73 witnesses, including victims injured in the blast that shook the national capital on November 10.
In close collaboration with the Delhi Police, Jammu and Kashmir Police, Haryana Police, UP Police, and various other agencies, the NIA is actively pursuing its investigation across multiple states.
