Jaipur, June 14 (NationPress) On Saturday, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) executed raids at various sites in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh linked to a terror conspiracy case involving the proscribed terrorist group Hizb-Ut-Tahrir (HUT).

The agency targeted two premises in Jhalawar (Rajasthan) and three in Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) as part of its ongoing investigation into HUT's extremist activities.

In Jhalawar, NIA agents searched a residence in Kazi Chowk and a shop adjacent to Jama Masjid. Local police accompanied the NIA during these operations.

The agency reportedly seized various digital devices, which have been dispatched to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for data extraction and further examination.

The NIA has indicated that Hizb-Ut-Tahrir is a banned organization, outlawed by the Indian government since 1953.

The Ministry of Home Affairs labeled the group illegal, asserting its involvement in radicalizing Indian citizens and recruiting them for ISIS under the pretext of jihad.

The group is also accused of soliciting funds to facilitate terrorist acts.

Based on credible intelligence, the agency acted against individuals believed to have maintained long-term communication with members of this illegal organization in Bhopal and Jhalawar. NIA teams initiated simultaneous raids at around 4:30 a.m., continuing until 11 a.m. on Saturday. During these operations, digital evidence was collected, with data recovery currently in progress.

Further actions will be determined based on forensic results.

An NIA spokesperson stated, “We are vigilantly tracking the activities of HUT and its affiliates. Our investigations have uncovered numerous individuals linked to the group from three locations in Bhopal and two in Jhalawar. Consequently, the raids were executed, and digital devices have been forwarded for forensic assessment.”

The NIA emphasized that radical networks like HUT are striving to provoke violence and destabilize the nation by preying on susceptible Muslim youth.

The organization allegedly seeks to indoctrinate young individuals to overturn the democratically elected government and establish an Islamic state governed by Sharia law.

Just approximately ten days ago, the NIA apprehended a suspect named Mohsin from the Ashoka Garden area of Bhopal, based on suspicions regarding his participation in anti-national activities.

During interrogations, actionable intelligence led to subsequent actions against another individual, Sajid, in the town of Manoharthana in Jhalawar. The NIA's continuing operations highlight the agency's dedication to dismantling radical organizations and curbing the proliferation of extremist ideologies within the nation.

Point of View

I emphasize the critical need for vigilance against radical ideologies that threaten our national security. The NIA's proactive measures are essential in dismantling networks that seek to exploit vulnerable populations. It is imperative that we remain united in our efforts to uphold democratic principles and protect our society from extremist influences.
