Why is Nitin Nabin Urging Bengal Bureaucrats to Resist Trinamool Influence?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Kolkata, Jan 28 (NationPress) The newly-appointed National President of the BJP, Nitin Nabin, urged the bureaucrats of West Bengal, particularly the District Magistrates (DMs) and Sub-Divisional Officers, to refrain from heedlessly complying with the directives of the ruling Trinamool Congress leaders.
“I advise the DMs and SDPs. The era of the current Trinamool Congress administration is coming to an end. Do not act as puppets for the ruling party leaders. You are public servants. Stand with the people. I also caution the Chief Minister of the state. The citizens of West Bengal have begun their countdown. It won't be long before the BJP assumes the responsibility of guiding West Bengal towards development,” Nabin stated during a public gathering in the industrial town of Durgapur in West Burdwan district on Wednesday.
Furthermore, he remarked that the Chief Minister's distress regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) stems from the Election Commission of India (ECI) attempting to cleanse the voters' list of infiltrators. “Illegal infiltrators from Bangladesh have no right to reside in this land,” Nabin emphasized.
He accused the Trinamool Congress leadership and members of the West Bengal government of engaging in extensive financial fraud, asserting that should the BJP gain power in the state, those responsible for corruption will face consequences.
“We have dismantled 'Jungle Raj' in various states after taking office. We will do the same in West Bengal. I urge all grassroots BJP workers in West Bengal to prepare for the final countdown. The entire BJP family stands with you,” he declared.
During the event, Nabin also criticized Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for her advice to women to stay home after 8 pm, following the sexual assault of a Dalit student from a private medical college in Durgapur last year.
“We have witnessed numerous incidents of rape and murder in the state, and the government has attempted to shield the culprits. I have observed all the remarks made about sexual violence. I denounce that mindset. I strongly oppose the Chief Minister's statement. She questioned why women go out in the evening. Bengali women are modern and are at the forefront of advancing Bengali culture. Are they being instructed to remain indoors?” Nabin questioned.
