Key Takeaways
Kolkata, March 1 (NationPress) BJP President Nitin Nabin fiercely criticized the Mamata Banerjee administration in West Bengal, calling on citizens to end the government's mismanagement by voting them out in the forthcoming Assembly elections.
During the initiation of BJP's Parivartan Yatra in West Bengal, which started in the Cooch Behar district, Nabin stated, "We must liberate Bengal from the corrupt mismanagement of the Trinamool Congress. The people are craving genuine 'poriborton' (change) this time around."
He also condemned the Mamata Banerjee government for allegedly providing refuge to infiltrators, allowing them to vote by issuing voter cards. "Mamata Banerjee hurried to the Supreme Court to shield infiltrators on the electoral rolls, as they form her party's voting base. The Trinamool Congress has continuously won elections with the backing of these illegal voters. Following the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process, over 50 lakh infiltrators, who were taking away jobs, were removed from Bengal's electoral rolls," asserted Nabin.
"We must not only expel infiltrators from West Bengal but also establish a strong government that can foster comprehensive development. In Bengal, Mamata didi has facilitated infiltrators by assisting them in acquiring false documents. This must come to a halt. The BJP will guarantee that no infiltrator remains in Bengal's voter list," Nabin emphasized.
The BJP commenced its 'Parivartan Yatra' with four public rallies from Cooch Behar, Krishnanagar in Nadia, Kulti in West Burdwan, and Garbeta in West Midnapore.
The remaining five yatras are set to begin on March 2 from Islampur in North Dinajpur, Sandeshkhali in North 24 Parganas, Hasan in Birbhum, Mathurapur in South 24 Parganas, and Amta in Howrah.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah is anticipated to inaugurate the yatra from Mathurapur on Monday, while Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will participate in the event at Amta.
In a related development, while addressing the Parivartan Yatra in Krishnanagar of Nadia district, Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda also criticized the Mamata Banerjee-led government for similar concerns.
"Mamata Banerjee is attempting to transform West Bengal into a sanctuary for infiltrators. The law and order situation is deteriorating here. Mamata Banerjee has obstructed Ayushman Bharat in Bengal, depriving nearly 40 lakh families of free medical treatment," Nadda remarked.
Furthermore, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan stated to IANS in West Burdwan district, "The Election Commission has rectified all issues, and any discrepancies have been addressed. Individuals who do not belong to India will no longer feature on the voter list. The citizens of Bengal have made their decision, and change is unavoidable."
