BJP's Parivartan Yatra Surges in Bengal, Leaders Critique TMC Government
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Kolkata, March 7 (NationPress) The Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Parivartan Yatra is garnering significant support from the populace in West Bengal, as party leaders criticize the Trinamool Congress government for corruption, mismanagement, and administrative shortcomings.
During a Parivartan Yatra event in the Midnapore division of West Midnapore district, BJP state president Samik Bhattacharya addressed attendees and launched a fierce attack on the state administration.
He mentioned that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had previously vowed to alleviate the fear that marked the CPI-M era, yet asserted that residents of West Bengal now find themselves in a renewed state of insecurity.
He claimed that corruption has escalated to the point where monetary demands are being made for college recruitments.
“In a time when young people are searching for jobs, the Trinamool Congress government is focusing on allowances instead of creating employment opportunities,” Bhattacharya remarked.
He further declared that the Trinamool Congress has become a “tested and rejected” political entity.
In his view, the party came to power on promises of restoring democracy and reducing fear, but instead has transformed the state into a marketplace where fundamental rights are being compromised.
Bhattacharya also mentioned alleged discrepancies in voter lists, noting that there have been cases where the age gap between a father and son is as little as ten years.
He urged the public to say “No to TMC” and invited citizens to join the Brigade Rally in Kolkata on March 14, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to speak.
In addition, the Parivartan Yatra in Phulbari, South Dinajpur district was attended by Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar, MP Khagen Murmu, and other BJP leaders and supporters.
Sukanta Majumdar stated that BJP workers are braving the intense heat to ensure the program's success. He noted that had it been a Trinamool Congress event, biryani packets would have been necessary to maintain the crowd's presence.
He emphasized that the BJP is dedicated to enacting genuine change through job creation, enhancing healthcare infrastructure, and shielding West Bengal from emerging demographic challenges.
At another Parivartan Yatra event in the Mongalkote Assembly constituency of East Burdwan district, Suvendu Adhikari, the Leader of the Opposition in the state Assembly, accused the Trinamool Congress government of leading West Bengal into decline via corruption and appeasement politics.
He asserted that the BJP-led Central government has allocated over ₹10 lakh crore to West Bengal, a significantly larger financial contribution than that provided by previous Congress administrations.
Meanwhile, the Yatra also saw enthusiastic participation in the Sreerampur Assembly constituency in Hooghly district, where Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw joined the roadshow.
As the Yatra progresses through various districts and divisions, it continues to witness rising public engagement and support, according to BJP leaders.
