Is Mamata Banerjee's Regime Leading Bengal Back to Riot-Ridden Darkness?

Kolkata, Aug 14 (NationPress) The BJP asserted on Thursday that the Trinamool Congress government, led by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, is dragging West Bengal into a state reminiscent of the chaos and violence that marked the year 1947.

BJP leader Amit Malviya, who heads the party's Information Technology Cell, remarked that under Mamata's leadership, the state has returned to an era filled with turmoil, compelling residents to endure past traumas.

“78 years ago, in 1947, Bengal suffered a brutal division orchestrated on Cyril Radcliffe’s desk—divided and handed to Pakistan. Sanatani Bengalis paid dearly with their blood, homes, and dignity. Just as Bengal was starting to recover from the devastation inflicted by extremist factions, the governance of Mamata Banerjee has plunged it back into a similar abyss, forcing the populace to relive their anguish,” Malviya stated in a social media update on Thursday.

He highlighted that 400-500 Hindu families were driven from their residences by extremist mobs under the guise of an “anti-Waqf” demonstration. Reports surfaced of Bengali Hindu women being violated, brutalized, and paraded by TMC’s so-called Shariat warriors like Sheikh Shahjahan and Tajimul Haque.

“Students in Darivit were tragically shot for advocating for Bengali educators instead of those who teach in Urdu. And the examples continue…” Malviya noted in his post.

He contended that to maintain her grip on power, Mamata Banerjee’s unchecked appeasement has reopened the wounds inflicted by partition.

“The year 2026 will witness the revival of Bengal’s glory and the establishment of Tagore’s Sonar Bangla once more,” his post concluded.

In another update, Malviya referenced a comment made by the Supreme Court: “What if an infiltrator enters illegally? If you don’t detain them, the implication is clear that they will vanish.”

This remark was made while the court declined to provide an interim stay on the detention of Bengali Muslim migrants during nationality verification.

“This represents a significant setback for West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee’s efforts to legitimize illegal Bangladeshi Muslims and Rohingyas—those who crossed through her state’s permeable borders and received various documents from local authorities to register as voters,” Malviya asserted.

He estimated that there are over one crore illegal and ineligible voters in West Bengal alone. “The number of such infiltrators across the country is exponentially higher—a looming demographic crisis,” Malviya added.
