Kolkata, Dec 23 (NationPress) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has taken a stand against the police response to demonstrators from the Hindu Jagran Manch, who were protesting outside the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Kolkata regarding the tragic murder of Hindu individual Dipu Chandra Das in Bangladesh. The party accused West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of concealing herself behind a 'thug police force' and orchestrating actions against the lawful protests of Hindus in the state.

"Mamata Banerjee needs to cease hiding behind her thug police force. The violent aggression against Hindu protesters outside the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Kolkata, where women and the elderly were trapped behind barricades, subjected to lathi charges, manhandled, and beaten until they bled, is a premeditated act of state-sponsored violence aimed at suppressing calls for justice for persecuted Hindus in Bangladesh," asserted Amit Malviya, the Chief of BJP's Information Technology Cell and the party's central observer for West Bengal, shortly after the police's actions resulted in over 20 injuries and the detention of more than a dozen individuals.

According to Malviya, the demonstrations, led by Hindus, were ignited by the horrifying murder of Hindu youth Dipu Chandra Das, who was burned to death in Mymensingh, Bangladesh on December 20, 2025, amidst unfounded blasphemy claims.

"Yet Mamata's police transformed a peaceful protest into a bloodbath, acting like TMC's hired thugs," Malviya added.

He further stated that while radical mobs in Bangladesh mercilessly hunt and kill Hindus, in West Bengal, the state government itself unleashes brutality through its police force against Hindus who dare to speak out.

"This reflects a troubling trend where her police act as tools of oppression, embodying a brutality reminiscent of Bangladesh that spills Hindu blood to placate extremists. The BJP stands resolutely with Bengal's Hindus as their genuine protector, dedicated to upholding their rights, dignity, and security," Malviya concluded.
