Kolkata, July 24 (NationPress) Amit Malviya, the Chief of BJP’s Information Technology Cell and the party's central observer for West Bengal, has accused Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of disseminating falsehoods regarding alleged attacks on Bengali-speaking individuals in states governed by the BJP. Earlier that day, the Chief Minister shared a post on her official X account, indicating that she had been receiving increasing reports of detentions and abuses towards Bengali-speaking individuals from various districts of West Bengal in Gurgaon, Haryana.
In response, Malviya made a counter-post on Thursday evening, directly claiming that the Chief Minister was misleading the public regarding this matter.
Malviya clarified that those being interrogated in Gurugram were “illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators” rather than “Indian Bengalis”. He stated, “You are LYING. Those being questioned are illegal Bangladeshis, who might speak Bangla but are NOT Indian citizens. You are a DISGRACE to equate Indian citizens from West Bengal with illegal migrants from Bangladesh, merely because they all happen to be TMC voters,” he asserted.
Malviya went on to accuse the West Bengal government of aiding these illegal Bangladeshi migrants in obtaining counterfeit Indian identity documents. “Your administration has facilitated these illegal migrants to acquire Aadhaar and other official documents prior to infiltrating different regions of India — all on the condition they return to vote for the TMC in every election,” Malviya added.
He firmly stated that no illegal infiltrators would escape punishment. “Remember: no ILLEGAL migrant will be spared. Stop using the fact that they speak Bangla to advance your nefarious politics,” his statement concluded.
Earlier, film star and BJP leader Mithun Chakraborty, present in Kolkata for a party event, also accused the Chief Minister of fabricating a narrative concerning the supposed mistreatment of Bengali-speaking individuals in BJP-ruled areas. “Bengali-speaking individuals have not undergone any form of undue harassment throughout the nation. In fact, the Trinamool Congress is running out of issues ahead of the elections. Thus, the Chief Minister is attempting to fabricate a false narrative and incite the general populace, which has been her consistent approach,” Chakraborty remarked after his arrival in Kolkata on Thursday afternoon.
