Kolkata, April 18 (NationPress) Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, launched a vigorous campaign in West Bengal on Monday, criticizing the Trinamool Congress government for the suffering faced by youth, women, and farmers in the state, urging an end to the ‘dark period of 15 years’ under Mamata Banerjee.

Speaking to a large crowd in the Pingla constituency, CM Yogi expressed concern over the distress of the youth, the frustration of farmers, and the collapse of industries, while accusing the Trinamool government of being fixated on appeasement.

He escalated his criticism by alleging that the TMC is catering to a specific community while applying different standards to the majority community.

Additionally, he pointed out that the mafias involved in sand, coal, land, and cattle are exploiting Bengal’s natural resources, while Mamata Didi shows more annoyance towards the chants of “Jai Shri Ram” than towards these criminal activities.

CM Yogi highlighted the restrictions on idol immersion during Durga Puja, claiming the Mamata government blames the processions for attacks from thugs.

Reflecting on Uttar Pradesh’s condition before 2017, he stated, “In the past, chanting Jai Shri Ram led to police brutality, but now those who worship Lord Ram are welcomed.”

He mentioned that Pingla signifies “saffron,” symbolizing spiritual heritage, and commended Bengal's farmers for their diligent efforts in making the land productive.

Recalling Bengal's role in the freedom struggle, the UP CM remarked that the spark from Barrackpore ignited the First War of Independence and that this land has given rise to the national anthem and song.

In naming historical figures such as Rabindranath Tagore, Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, Ramakrishna Paramhansa, Lahiri Mahasaya, Swami Vivekananda, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Khudiram Bose, and Syama Prasad Mookerjee, he emphasized Bengal's historical leadership and called for liberation from the chaos of the Trinamool government.

Asking for votes for BJP candidates Swagata Manna from Pingla and Suvendu Samanta from Keshpur, CM Yogi noted that Bengal was once celebrated as India’s “golden land.”

“It was known for its fertile soil, thriving industries, talented youth, hard-working farmers, and strong cultural leadership from women; however, the Congress, Left parties, and Trinamool have reduced Bengal to poverty,” he asserted, claiming that in the last 15 years, over 7,000 large industries and more than 18,000 MSME units have shut down, leaving countless youth jobless.
