New Delhi, April 15 (NationPress) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday launched a fierce critique of the Opposition for their quietness regarding the chaos in Murshidabad, West Bengal.
While inaugurating several development projects at the Amar Senani Raja Narpati Singh Memorial in Hardoi district, he highlighted the ongoing communal strife in Bengal, particularly where Hindus faced violence during protests against the Waqf Act.
CM Yogi condemned the political adversaries for what he labeled as “selective outrage” and “appeasement politics”.
Speaking to a large audience, the CM remarked, “Those who incite violence and create unrest deserve only a danda (stick). You’ve witnessed how West Bengal is ablaze, yet the Chief Minister remains mute.”
He went on to criticize Mamata Banerjee, stating, “She refers to the protesters and troublemakers as ‘peace bearers’. However, those who warrant a danda cannot be reasoned with. In the guise of secularism, they have granted full reign to the chaotic elements within society.”
“For a week, Murshidabad has been engulfed in flames, yet the state government opts for silence. Such intolerance is unacceptable in a democratic setup,” CM Yogi emphasized.
CM Yogi also expressed appreciation to the judiciary for intervening to ensure citizens' safety. “I want to thank the court for deploying Central security forces and acting to safeguard Hindus.”
Shifting his focus to the Congress and the Samajwadi Party (SP), the Chief Minister asserted, “Congress is silent on Murshidabad; SP is silent too. These are the same individuals who supported unrest in Bangladesh. It seems they prefer going to Bangladesh instead of staying in India; why burden us here?”
Praising the central leadership regarding the Waqf Act, CM Yogi remarked, “I am thankful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for enacting the Waqf Amendment Bill. It’s a vital move to reclaim land that was unlawfully seized from the underprivileged.”
This past Sunday, CM Yogi criticized Mamata Banerjee over the violence in Murshidabad and remarked that the targeted Hindus in Bengal are Dalits, who stand to benefit the most from the amended Waqf Act.
