Lucknow, April 17 (NationPress) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a scathing attack on the Opposition regarding their inaction and silence over the recent violent events in Murshidabad, West Bengal. These disturbances reportedly erupted during protests by Muslim groups in response to the Waqf Amendment Act.
He condemned the Opposition for their complete silence on the violence in Bengal, contrasting it with their vocal responses in other regions, thus unveiling their double standards.
While addressing an event named “Uttar Pradesh: Towards a Glorious Century,” the Chief Minister criticized the opposition parties for being responsible for persistent issues like corruption, casteism, and mafia rule in previous administrations.
“The same individuals involved in scams and who constructed hotels in London using public funds are the ones who have plundered the state and fractured society along caste lines,” he stated.
“Those who have established their political dominions through corruption, casteism, mafia influence, and dynastic politics are now mute regarding incidents like Murshidabad,” he commented.
Referencing Uttar Pradesh, he noted that the mafia raj has been eradicated, transforming the state into a safer and more peaceful environment.
“In earlier times, mafias dominated entire districts, monopolizing government contracts, inciting riots, and intimidating women and business owners. People were often fearful during festivities. Today, festivals in Uttar Pradesh are celebrated joyfully and with splendor,” CM Yogi asserted.
He also compared the Murshidabad violence with the situations that cities like Muzaffarnagar, Bareilly, Aligarh, and Lucknow faced in the past.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister criticized the Opposition for disrespecting national heroes such as Shivaji, Maharana Pratap, and Rana Sanga, while praising figures like Aurangzeb, Babur, and Jinnah, whom he claimed opposed the concept of India.
He accused opposition parties and their leaders of disseminating propaganda and hatred within society for the sake of vote-bank politics.
“To create a prosperous Uttar Pradesh and a self-sufficient, developed India, it is crucial to honor our national heroes. This aligns with one of the commitments of the Prime Minister’s ‘Panch Pran’ vision,” he emphasized.
