Anurag Thakur Criticizes CM Mamata at BJP's Parivartan Yatra
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Kolkata, March 8 (NationPress) On Sunday, Anurag Thakur, the former Union Minister and MP from Hamirpur, joined the BJP's Parivartan Yatra in West Bengal, accompanied by Union Minister Shantanu Thakur and other party officials.
Speaking to a vast crowd in the Naihati Assembly area of North 24 Parganas, he accused Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of opposing President Droupadi Murmu while simultaneously welcoming infiltrators and criminal elements into the state.
He asserted that Mamata Banerjee is not acting as a Chief Minister, but rather as the “Quaid-e-Azam of mafias, jihadis and infiltrators.”
Thakur emphasized that removing the Trinamool Congress government is crucial for safeguarding Bengal's identity and resources, advocating for a BJP-led governance.
He remarked that the forthcoming Assembly elections would serve as a crucial battle for the preservation of Bengali pride, culture, and the very essence of the state.
According to Thakur, illegal infiltration from Bangladesh has persisted in Bengal for years, facilitated by successive governments—from Congress to the Communists and now the Trinamool Congress—who have exploited these infiltrators as a vote bank.
“Rather than fostering new industries and job opportunities for Bengal's youth, the state government has repeatedly betrayed the populace through corruption involving cut money taken by its ministers, leaders, and workers,” Thakur stated.
He claimed that when central agencies arrive in the state to probe criminal activities, they appear to be more intimidated by Mamata Banerjee than by the actual criminals.
Thakur also criticized the Trinamool Congress for making schools and colleges unsafe for women and girls, stating that victims often find themselves running from one court to another in search of justice.
He further pointed out that the Trinamool Congress rose to power under the slogan of “Maa, Maati, Manush.” However, he alleged that “Maa has been overtaken by Mamata, Maati has been devoured by mafias, and Manush has succumbed to money power,” transforming the government into one dominated by Mamata, mafia, and financial influence.
