Kolkata, April 9 (NationPress) The President of the West Bengal Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Samik Bhattacharya, has leveled serious allegations against the Trinamool Congress-led administration for its alleged misdeeds and misrule throughout its 15 years in power.

His statements come as a response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who asserted that post-May 4, every individual associated with the Trinamool Congress and linked to corruption and exploitation of the public in West Bengal will be identified and brought to justice.

“After May 4, anyone involved in corruption, be it a leader or a Minister, will be held accountable individually. All of them will face incarceration. This is Modi's promise,” the Prime Minister declared during a campaign rally in Asansol, located in West Burdwan district.

In an interview with IANS, Bhattacharya expressed, “The entire populace of West Bengal is anticipating this. The misdeeds and misrule of the past 15 years must be addressed. The Trinamool Congress has exploited the public for far too long.”

He further accused Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of failing the trust placed in her by the people.

“The party that assumed power in 2011 had a singular agenda: the restoration of democracy. She (Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee) has betrayed the confidence of the citizens who supported her,” Bhattacharya stated.

He added, “Today, the people of West Bengal have resolved that 'Didi' (Mamata Banerjee) will be removed from power on May 4.”

BJP candidate Jitendra Nath Tiwari echoed similar sentiments, stating, “The residents here are merely counting down the days until they can bid farewell to this (Trinamool) government. The countdown to their end has commenced.”

Tiwari, who is contesting from the Pandaveswar Assembly constituency, also expressed his support for PM Modi's stance.

“This cycle of accountability has existed since the times of 'Treta Yug' and 'Dwapar Yug'. Those who commit wrongdoings are punished. Why should it be any different in 'Kalyug'?” he remarked to IANS.

Shubhashish Mondol, a participant at PM Modi's rally in Asansol, conveyed, “PM Modi has sent a clear message to West Bengal that together we will remove the Trinamool Congress from power, paving the way for a BJP government in the state.”
