Kolkata, Aug 3 (NationPress) The prevalent corruption, escalating occurrences of crime against women, and the persistent communal violence in minority-dominated regions of West Bengal will serve as the focal counterpoints for the BJP Parliamentarians representing West Bengal in the ongoing monsoon session of Parliament. They aim to challenge the Trinamool Congress' assertions regarding special intensive review (SIR) and allegations of Bengali-harassment in BJP-ruled states.
On Monday, both parties' leadership will finalize their strategies for this parliamentary battle. West Bengal's Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, is scheduled to hold a virtual meeting with all Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha members to strategize on the SIR and Bengali-harassment matters.
Conversely, BJP’s parliamentary members from West Bengal, led by state president and Rajya Sabha member Samik Bhattacharya, will meet with Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Bhattacharya confirmed this meeting on Sunday, though he did not disclose specific topics for discussion.
A BJP insider mentioned that the issues raised by Trinamool Congress MPs regarding West Bengal need prompt and effective counterarguments on the same day in Parliament. However, not all BJP MPs from West Bengal are scheduled to speak on every day.
“Our MPs will request the Union Home Minister to ensure at least one party MP from West Bengal is scheduled to speak each day during the remaining days of the Monsoon Session,” the state committee member added.
