Is Mamata Banerjee the Face of Desperation According to BJP?

Kolkata, Feb 4 (NationPress) The Bharatiya Janata Party asserted on Wednesday that the way West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is displaying anxiety regarding the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in the state indicates she has become a symbol of desperation.
“If desperation had a face, it would be Mamata Banerjee’s. The Chief Minister is acutely aware that her repeated electoral victories have heavily relied on the votes of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants and Rohingyas, further complicated by the covert addition of fake and ineligible names to the electoral rolls through compliant district magistrates, sub-divisional officers, and booth-level officers,” claimed Amit Malviya, the Chief of the BJP’s Information Technology Cell and the party's central observer for West Bengal, in a statement shared on his social media platform, X.
He suggested that her current nervousness stems from the realization that the ongoing SIR process threatens to dismantle her meticulously constructed and fiercely safeguarded voting ecosystem in West Bengal.
“This, more than anything else, elucidates her present antics. For the past two days, Mamata Banerjee has been in Delhi, engaging in political theatrics and staged outrage,” Malviya added.
He also noted that the Trinamool Congress stands alone as the only political entity in the nation opposing the revision exercise, while similar initiatives are underway in 11 other states and union territories, including the opposition-ruled Tamil Nadu.
Malviya emphasized that since Mamata Banerjee shows little regard for institutions or the federal framework, she treats rules and regulations as mere inconveniences and the constitutional structure as an obstruction.
“Her administration has been characterized by relentless confrontations, not just with the central government, but with virtually every stakeholder,” Malviya stated.
“The outcome is governance paralysis, and Bengal bears the brunt. The citizens of the state continue to be deprived of development and stability while political theatrics take precedence,” he added.
A vital hearing regarding the petition filed by the Chief Minister against the SIR is set to take place before a three-judge bench of the Supreme Court on Wednesday. A post by the Trinamool Congress on the party’s official social media account earlier ignited speculation about the possibility of the Chief Minister presenting her case during the hearing.
