Key Takeaways
Kolkata, April 9 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared on Thursday that every member of the Trinamool Congress implicated in corruption and exploitation of the people in West Bengal will be identified and held accountable after May 4, the date the forthcoming Assembly elections will be announced.
"Post May 4, anyone involved in corruption—be it a leader, a Minister, or any individual—will be distinctly identified and will face legal repercussions. They will be imprisoned. This is my pledge," the Prime Minister stated during a campaign rally in the industrial town of Asansol, located in the West Burdwan district.
This marked the second of three campaign rallies the Prime Minister held that day.
Previously, in Asansol, he also addressed a rally at Haldia in East Midnapore. He is set to speak at another rally in Suri in Birbhum district later.
According to PM Modi, the Trinamool Congress has reached unprecedented levels of corruption and moral decay. He expressed confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will establish a double-engine government in West Bengal, leading to a new era of development post May 4.
He criticized the Trinamool Congress for fostering an atmosphere of terror and intimidation. "This is why industries have shut down in West Bengal. Currently, the state is plagued by anti-social elements, mafias, and illegal infiltrators. This cannot persist; the people must be liberated from this reign of terror," the Prime Minister remarked.
Additionally, PM Modi highlighted the alarming state of women's safety in West Bengal, accusing the ruling Trinamool Congress of shielding those committing crimes against women. "Women face a serious threat in West Bengal. Criminals are unrestrained. The Trinamool government stands with these criminals. Only the BJP can ensure women's safety in West Bengal," he asserted.
