Kolkata, April 19 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted on Sunday that West Bengal risks losing its rich cultural identity due to the Trinamool Congress' alarming agenda promoting widespread illegal infiltration and providing undue benefits to infiltrators.

"The upcoming Assembly elections in West Bengal represent a crucial fight to safeguard the state's identity and land. The Trinamool Congress is pursuing a perilous agenda that seeks to establish a government favoring illegal infiltrators. They aim to create a state administration that prioritizes the culture, language, and religion of these infiltrators, essentially positioning the common people of West Bengal as adversaries of that infiltrator-led government. Hence, the citizens of West Bengal have resolved to instigate change this time," the Prime Minister articulated during a campaign rally in Jhargram, a district predominantly inhabited by tribal communities, marking his third rally in the state for the day.

Modi emphasized that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has consistently championed the preservation of West Bengal's cultural heritage.

"Under our tenure, Bengali has been recognized as a 'classical language.' Furthermore, an edition of the Indian Constitution is now available in the Santali language. The BJP takes pride in West Bengal's heritage and is committed to its protection at all costs," he stated.

During the event, he also noted that while the future of West Bengal and its people is being engulfed in severe darkness, the extravagant, high-priced vehicles of Trinamool Congress leaders are thriving.

"I assure you that those accountable for the hardships in your lives will not escape justice if the BJP comes to power in West Bengal after the Assembly elections. All corrupt Trinamool Congress leaders will be held accountable," he pledged.

He further pointed out that while modern schools are being established in various tribal regions across the country under the 'Eklavya Model Residential School' initiative, the tribal populace of West Bengal is being denied these opportunities.

Point of View

PM Modi's statements reflect the urgency to address concerns regarding cultural preservation in West Bengal. The emphasis on illegal infiltration highlights a broader narrative about governance and accountability, resonating with voters ahead of the crucial Assembly elections.
