PM Modi Promises Balanced Approach Between Doles and Jobs in West Bengal
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Kolkata, April 19 (NationPress) On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi articulated that should the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) take control in West Bengal following the upcoming Assembly elections, the new administration will implement a harmonious strategy balancing dole allowances with the financial responsibility of fostering employment.
“I assure the youth of West Bengal that under BJP governance, unemployment benefits and initiatives for job creation will be pursued concurrently. Furthermore, those who have jeopardized the future of the youth in West Bengal will face accountability,” the Prime Minister stated during a campaign rally in Belda, situated in West Midnapore district.
During his address, Modi accused the Trinamool Congress of inconsistency regarding the reservation policy.
“While the Trinamool Congress opposes the Women’s Reservation (Amendment) Bill, the West Bengal government, under their leadership, is attempting to enforce reservations based on religion.
“They aim to take away reservations from OBCs and allocate them to Muslims, which contradicts the Indian Constitution and judicial rulings. The Trinamool Congress must be held accountable for this,” said PM Modi.
He also highlighted how the prolonged indulgence shown by the Trinamool Congress has emboldened illegal infiltrators in the state.
“Over the past 15 years of Trinamool Congress rule, incidents of riots and political violence have surged. The infiltrators have become increasingly audacious, and the violence against women has escalated. A change is imperative for improvement this time,” Modi asserted.
Expressing confidence from his political background, Modi proclaimed that the BJP is poised to form the government in West Bengal.
“In fact, there will be districts where the Trinamool Congress may not secure a single MLA. The BJP will prevail across the entire district,” he concluded.
