Kolkata, July 18 (NationPress) The Central government is committed to addressing the issue of illegal infiltrators in West Bengal in accordance with the Constitution, despite the Trinamool Congress's efforts to shield them, asserted Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a rally hosted by the BJP's West Bengal unit in the industrial area of Durgapur, located in West Burdwan district.
PM Modi highlighted that while Bengalis receive due respect in BJP-led states, the populace in West Bengal endures hardships due to the patronage extended to illegal infiltrators by the current ruling party and the state administration.
He stated, “In West Bengal, illegal infiltrators are being issued fraudulent Indian identity documents. An entire system has been established to facilitate illegal infiltration. These infiltrators pose threats to national security and the cultural integrity of Bengal. The Trinamool Congress has jeopardized the state’s honor for narrow political gain,” the Prime Minister emphasized.
According to PM Modi, the true intentions of the Trinamool Congress have been transparent to the nation, as they have initiated a new campaign in support of illegal infiltrators, directly challenging Constitutional provisions and institutions.
“Let me make it clear: those individuals are not citizens of India, and illegal infiltrators will be dealt with according to the Constitution,” affirmed the Prime Minister.
Political analysts view PM Modi’s remarks regarding illegal infiltration as a calculated response to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's and the Trinamool Congress's current stance concerning the alleged mistreatment of Bengali-speaking individuals in BJP-ruled states, who have been labeled as illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators.
“The roots of the BJP are embedded in West Bengal. This is why Bengalis are held in high esteem in BJP-governed states. The BJP has recognized Bengali as a classical language and acknowledges its rich cultural heritage,” PM Modi added.
