Patna, Sep 27 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar, on Saturday, took a significant step towards development by inaugurating and laying the foundation for 242 developmental projects totaling Rs 583 crore. This event took place at the Gandhi Senior Secondary High School campus in Narhiya Panchayat of Sameli block in Katihar.
The CM remotely unveiled plaques for 224 schemes valued at Rs 73.59 crore and laid the groundwork for 18 projects estimated at Rs 332.53 crore.
During this event, Kumar engaged with a large assembly of Jivika Didis, pensioners, and various beneficiaries, emphasizing recent welfare initiatives aimed at improving income levels and enhancing social security.
Many beneficiaries expressed their appreciation for the government’s decision to significantly raise honorariums and pensions. This includes increases for farmer advisors from Rs 13,000 to Rs 21,000 per month, cooks from Rs 1,650 to Rs 3,300 per month, home guards' daily allowance from Rs 774 to Rs 1,121, artists’ pensions up to Rs 3,000 per month, and pensions for elderly, disabled, and widows from Rs 400 to Rs 1,100 per month, among others.
Furthermore, Nitish Kumar highlighted that his administration has guaranteed 125 units of free electricity for all household consumers, providing much-needed support amidst rising expenses.
The launch of the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana (Chief Minister Women Employment Scheme) was praised by Jivika Didis, who viewed it as a crucial move towards women’s self-sufficiency and economic empowerment.
Kumar reiterated his government’s dedication to uplifting all societal segments and ensuring dignity for everyone.
He also criticized Lalu Prasad Yadav, the RJD national president, claiming that during his tenure, he only favored his family members and neglected development in Bihar.
After the events in Katihar, Nitish Kumar went on to inaugurate and lay the foundation for 25 additional schemes worth Rs 8328.82 crore in Madhubani district.
This included the inauguration of nine development projects worth Rs 81.74 crore and the foundation laying of 16 schemes valued at Rs 8247.08 crore, including those announced for the district’s enhancement during the Pragati Yatra.
Afterward, the Chief Minister interacted with numerous pensioner beneficiaries, Jivika Didis, Anganwadi Sevika, Sahayika, and other attendees present at the dialogue program held at the venue.
