Patna, Aug 7 (NationPress) In light of numerous grievances regarding the recent teacher transfers in Bihar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has instructed the Education Department to accommodate requests from teachers wishing for placements nearer to their residences.
In addressing these concerns, CM Nitish shared on the social media platform X, stating, 'We have received a plethora of suggestions and complaints concerning the recent inter-district transfers of government school educators. I have directed the Education Department to permit these teachers to choose three preferred districts, from which they will be assigned to one. District postings will be managed by a committee chaired by the District Magistrate to place teachers in or near their preferred blocks whenever feasible.'
He urged educators to remain focused and assured them of their vital role.
'Teachers are the foundation of our future generations. I encourage them to stay dedicated to enhancing the educational standards in Bihar,' the Chief Minister remarked.
The Education Department, led by Additional Chief Secretary S. Siddharth, has already communicated directives to all District Magistrates (DMs) and District Education Officers (DEOs).
The issues concerning the Bihar Teacher Transfer and Posting process should be addressed by August 31, with new posting orders to be finalized by September 10.
Noteworthy in the directive is that teachers experiencing challenges with inter-district transfers can lodge complaints via the e-Shikshakosh portal. Complaints regarding intra-district postings will be managed by the District Establishment Committee, led by the respective DM.
Following a review, fresh transfer and posting orders will be issued to ensure that placements align with both merit and preference.
This initiative comes after educators across Bihar voiced their discontent about being assigned to remote districts, which has impacted their personal and professional lives.
The government's response is perceived as a teacher-friendly measure, especially with the forthcoming election season approaching.
