Bengaluru, Nov 25 (NationPress) Karnataka's Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced on Tuesday that he currently has no intentions of meeting the Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, regarding the purported power struggle within the Congress party in the state.
He emphasized that the ultimate decision lies with the High Command to resolve the ongoing speculation surrounding this issue.
This declaration was made during a media interaction at Cauvery Bhavan after he launched the transport of Nandini ghee for export to the United States, Saudi Arabia, and Australia.
Regarding cabinet expansion, CM Siddaramaiah stated that it will proceed upon receiving directives from party leadership. He reiterated that he has no immediate plans to meet LoP Gandhi.
In response to inquiries about a group of MLAs visiting Delhi to meet the High Command, the Chief Minister indicated that legislators are free to voice their opinions. “Let’s wait to see what the senior party leaders have to say,” he remarked.
He also highlighted that Karnataka's Nandini ghee, produced by the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF), is now being exported to Australia, the US, and Saudi Arabia, with rising demand and increasing popularity both domestically and internationally.
According to him, “Kumar, originally from Mysuru and now residing in the United States, has secured the agency for these exports.” The Chief Minister wished both KMF and Kumar well.
Notably, AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge had a prolonged discussion with CM Siddaramaiah last Saturday, and amid the ongoing leadership conflict for the CM position, Karnataka Dy CM and State Congress President D.K. Shivakumar was seen arriving at Bengaluru International Airport in the same vehicle as Kharge after departing from the Chief Minister's residence.
Mallikarjun Kharge is expected to address the continuing power struggle with LoP Gandhi once he reaches New Delhi.
