Angesh, who is implicated in over 18 criminal cases such as attempted murder, dacoity, illegal firearms possession, and theft, had been evading capture in a village falling under the Khusrupur police station.
“Upon receiving a tip-off, a specialized team led by the Khusrupur SHO conducted a raid early in the morning. While in police custody, the suspect attempted to flee by launching an attack on the officers and opened fire with a hidden weapon. Our team acted quickly, overpowering him,” SSP Kumar stated.
During the confrontation, Angesh suffered a gunshot wound to his leg. He was promptly taken into custody and transported to a hospital, where police sources confirmed his injuries were minor, and he remains under medical observation.
