Bhubaneswar, March 26 (NationPress) Unrest erupted both inside and outside the Odisha Assembly after Speaker Surama Padhy suspended 12 Congress MLAs on Tuesday due to their disorderly conduct in the House.
The suspended legislators protested near the Speaker's dias, refusing to exit the House after the suspension.
Amid the turmoil, the Assembly faced multiple adjournments throughout the day.
Eventually, the Assembly Speaker decided to adjourn the proceedings until Wednesday.
Nevertheless, the Congress MLAs chose to remain in the House, continuing their protests.
"We will not vacate the House and intend to stay here tonight. We'll resume our protests tomorrow. We are addressing issues related to women's atrocities in the state. Our demonstration will persist," stated Congress MLA Prafulla Pradhan, who was also among those suspended.
