The session will open with obituary references on September 18. Following that, on September 19, the House will deliberate on Private Members' Bills, and from September 20 to 25, five days have been set aside for official business.
On September 16, an all-party meeting took place in preparation for the upcoming session where Opposition parties committed to ensuring the Assembly operates smoothly.
Notable attendees included Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Deputy Chief Minister K.V. Singh Deo, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mukesh Mahaling, senior BJD leader Pramila Mallik, and Congress CLP leader Rama Chandra Kadam.
Speaker Padhy called for active and constructive contributions from all members throughout the session.
“All parties have pledged their cooperation in line with legislative norms. We hope for substantial discussions on public issues that can lead to meaningful outcomes for the people of Odisha,” she stated.
Encouraging legislators to maintain decorum and discipline, Padhy remarked, “I anticipate all MLAs to share their views thoughtfully, uphold the dignity of the House, and positively engage in the proceedings.”
In comments to the media, BJD leader Mallik assured that the party will fully support the functional integrity of the House in accordance with constitutional mandates.
She further clarified that the Opposition BJD will highlight significant concerns affecting the populace, including challenges faced by farmers, women, and SCs/STs.
Conversely, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mahaling asserted that the state government is thoroughly equipped to address any issues raised by the Opposition, particularly those regarding farmers, teachers, students, and women.
He also noted that the BJP plans to emphasize the BJD's 24-year governance, the previous Congress administration's performance, and the accomplishments of the BJP-led state government over the last 15 months.
