Bhubaneswar, June 2 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Odisha, Mohan Charan Majhi, on Monday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 13 significant developmental projects valued at approximately Rs 275 crore at Balia Pada in Bhadrak district.

Out of the 13 projects, nine were inaugurated, while four received their foundation stones.

During the ceremony, the Chief Minister made several important announcements for Bhadrak, including the creation of a government university and the eagerly awaited medical college, for which the foundation stone will be placed shortly.

Emphasizing industrial growth in the district, Majhi declared that Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) will invest Rs 4,377 crore to develop a Technical Textile Complex in Bhadrak.

Moreover, MCPI Private Limited will establish an HMLS polyester manufacturing facility with an investment of approximately Rs 2,224 crore.

The beautification of all martyr memorial sites in Bhadrak was also announced, adding cultural and historical importance to the area.

"Since our government took office, we have accelerated Bhadrak's development, a region known for its revolutionaries. We are dedicated to fulfilling every promise made to the citizens without delay," he stated during his speech.

He highlighted significant decisions made by the state government in the past year, such as the launch of the Subhadra Yojana, providing farmers with an additional Rs 800 per quintal of paddy, reopening all four gates of the Jagannath Temple, and allocating Rs 500 crore for rituals and services at the temple.

The Chief Minister mentioned that a comprehensive report on the government's achievements over the past year will be shared with the public on June 12.

Discussing the state’s vision for development, Majhi remarked, "Livelihood and employment are essential for progress. We are diligently working to enhance the financial well-being of citizens through agriculture, related activities, and industrial growth."

He criticized the previous administration for spending 24 years merely "painting pictures of development" while failing to deliver tangible results in education and healthcare.

"True development is just beginning," he asserted.

"In the coming years, Odisha's primary education landscape will undergo a complete transformation—not through flashy slogans, but through real results," he stated, targeting the previous government's 5T initiative (Technology, Teamwork, Transparency, Time, and Transformation).

Highlighting the government's industrial progress, he noted, "In just 120 days, under the 'Utkarsa Odisha' initiative, projects worth over Rs 80,000 crore have been initiated. On May 22 alone, approvals were granted for 10 projects valued at Rs 1.65 lakh crore. This signifies the dawn of an industrial revolution in Odisha, with Bhadrak and every district playing a role in this transformative journey."
