Bhubaneswar, Nov 13 (NationPress) The Speaker of the Odisha Assembly, Surama Padhy, convened a meeting on Thursday to assess the preparations for the forthcoming visit of President Droupadi Murmu, who is set to address the State Assembly on November 27.
During a crucial preparatory session, Padhy engaged with senior officials from the Odisha government, directing them to ensure the seamless execution of the President's upcoming itinerary.
In a similar vein, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja also conducted a high-level meeting at the Lok Seva Bhawan on Thursday.
According to the schedule, President Murmu will travel to neighboring Chhattisgarh via Jharsuguda on November 20.
She will participate in the 'Jan Jatiya Gaurav Diwas' event, taking place in Ambikapur, Chhattisgarh, on the morning of November 20.
Her arrival at Veer Surendra Sai Airport in Jharsuguda is expected at 10:05 a.m., followed by her journey to Ambikapur aboard a special IAF helicopter.
After the event, she will return to Jharsuguda and then head to Andhra Pradesh by 1:45 p.m. the same day.
During the meeting, Chief Secretary Ahuja discussed arrangements with Jharsuguda District Collector Chavan Kunal Motiram and District Superintendent of Police Parmar Smit Parshottamdas, ensuring that provisions are in place for any emergencies during the President's short visit to the Veer Surendra Sai Airport.
Officials also reviewed security protocols, fire safety measures, medical and health facilities, and other necessary arrangements.
Additionally, discussions were held regarding the preparations for President Murmu's visit to Bhubaneswar on November 27.
As per the itinerary, she is expected to arrive at Bhubaneswar Airport at 2 p.m. and then head to Raj Bhavan, where she will inaugurate the newly constructed Kalinga Guest House.
Following this, she will visit the Odisha Assembly to address the House from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
In the evening, President Murmu will be honored at a dinner hosted by Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati at Raj Bhavan.
On November 28, she is expected to depart from Bhubaneswar Airport at 9:35 a.m. for Lucknow.
