New Delhi, Oct 21 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed his Diwali wishes to the nation on Tuesday through a heartfelt letter, drawing a significant connection between Lord Ram and Operation Sindoor. He emphasized that just as Lord Ram instills in us the values of dignity and righteousness, he also motivates us to combat injustice.
In his message, PM Modi reflected on how India showcased this principle a few months back during Operation Sindoor, where the nation preserved its dignity and sought justice.
“I express my warmest wishes to everyone on this joyous occasion of Deepavali, a festival brimming with joy and enthusiasm. This marks the second Deepavali since the magnificent construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Lord Shri Ram imparts lessons in righteousness and emboldens us in the battle against injustice. We witnessed a vivid illustration of this during Operation Sindoor. In that initiative, India not only upheld righteousness but also avenged injustice,” PM Modi stated in his letter.
“This year’s Deepavali is especially significant as, for the first time, lights will illuminate numerous districts nationwide, including remote regions. These areas have seen the complete eradication of Naxalism and Maoist terrorism. Recently, many individuals have chosen to abandon violence and embrace the path of development, placing their trust in the Constitution. This represents a monumental achievement for our country,” he added.
Among these historic milestones, PM Modi also underscored the government’s latest economic reforms.
“On the inaugural day of Navratri, we implemented reduced GST rates. During this ‘GST Bachat Utsav’ (Savings Festival), citizens are saving billions of rupees,” he mentioned.
He further encouraged the adoption of Swadeshi products and a revitalized sense of national pride.
“In a world beset by multiple crises, India stands as a beacon of both stability and sensitivity. We are also on the path to becoming the third-largest economy globally in the near future,” he stated.
“In our journey towards a ‘Viksit’ (Developed) and ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ (Self-Reliant India), it is our primary duty as citizens to serve our nation. Let us embrace Swadeshi products and proudly proclaim: ‘This is Swadeshi!’ Let us foster the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’. Let us honor all languages, maintain cleanliness, prioritize our health, reduce oil consumption in our diets by 10 percent, and adopt Yoga,” he urged.
“Deepavali teaches us that when one lamp illuminates another, its light only grows brighter. In that spirit, let us ignite lamps of harmony, cooperation, and positivity in our society. Wishing you all a very Happy Deepavali once again,” PM Modi concluded.
