Mumbai, January 17 (NationPress) Following the party's disappointing performance in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation elections and 28 other civic bodies, Raj Thackeray, leader of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, asserted on Saturday that the struggle for the Marathi Manoos, the Marathi language, Marathi identity, and a thriving Maharashtra will persist.
He urged the party's elected representatives to remain resolute in supporting the Marathi Manoos amidst efforts by the ruling coalition to intimidate them.
In a message posted on X, Raj Thackeray, who contested 53 seats in alliance with Shiv Sena-UBT during the BMC elections, expressed, "With love, Jai Maharashtra. Above all, heartfelt congratulations to all the elected corporators of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena and Shiv Sena. This election was challenging. It was a contest between immense financial influence and the power of authority against Shivshakti. Yet, both parties' workers fought valiantly. Their efforts deserve immense recognition."
He added, "It is disheartening that MNS did not achieve the anticipated success this time, but that should not lead us to despair. The elected corporators will stand their ground against the ruling powers. If any injustice is done against the Marathi Manoos, they will ensure those in power are held accountable."
Raj Thackeray further emphasized, "Our fight is for the Marathi Manoos, the Marathi language, our Marathi identity, and for a flourishing Maharashtra. This struggle is our very essence. We all know that such endeavors are long-term. We will collectively assess any issues and strategize for the future."
