New Delhi, Jan 17 (NationPress) The Delhi Traffic Police have released a traffic advisory detailing temporary restrictions in certain areas of central Delhi due to special traffic arrangements for the rehearsals leading up to the Republic Day Parade.

These restrictions commenced on Saturday and will remain in effect on January 19, 20, and 21 to ensure the smooth movement of parade contingents along Kartavyapath.

As per the advisory shared by the Delhi Traffic Police on the social media platform X, traffic restrictions will be in place daily from 10:15 AM to 12:30 PM during the rehearsal days. Commuters are advised to plan their travels ahead of time and avoid specific routes in and around Kartavyapath during these hours to minimize inconvenience and congestion.

Key areas to avoid include Kartavyapath at Rafi Marg Crossing, Janpath Crossing, Mansingh Road Crossing, and the C-Hexagon region. These spots are critical junctions in Lutyens’ Delhi and experience heavy traffic, particularly during office hours, making effective traffic management essential during the rehearsal period.

In their advisory, the traffic police have urged commuters to adhere strictly to traffic signs and directions from on-ground personnel. Motorists are encouraged to utilize alternate routes suggested by the police for smoother transit and to allow rehearsal activities to proceed without disruption.

The rehearsals for the Republic Day Parade involve the movement of large contingents from the armed forces, paramilitary forces, police units, and cultural performers, accompanied by heavy vehicles and equipment. Consequently, traffic restrictions are routinely enforced in the national capital as January 26 approaches to ensure security and logistical coordination.

Officials have stressed that these arrangements are temporary and vital for the successful execution of rehearsals ahead of the national event. The Delhi Traffic Police further request the public to remain patient and cooperative during this restriction period.
