New Delhi, Jan 17 (NationPress) Following the BJP’s remarkable success in securing victories across 29 municipal corporations in Maharashtra, the party declared on Saturday that the outcomes of the latest municipal elections distinctly indicate that the electorate has prioritized development and effective governance.

In a statement to the press, Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal asserted that the electoral results mirror the public’s confidence in the BJP’s strategic vision.

“The recent municipal elections in Maharashtra reveal that the populace has opted for development. The BJP’s unwavering dedication to progress and transparent administration has deeply resonated with voters. By granting the party such a clear mandate, citizens have signaled their support for advancement and competent governance. With a significant majority achieved in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), this triumph is poised to substantially enhance Mumbai’s growth trajectory,” he stated.

BJP MP Naresh Bansal attributed the party’s achievements to its leadership and grassroots initiatives.

He remarked, “The BJP’s focus on development under the globally acclaimed leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is being effectively executed by the state governments led by the BJP. In Maharashtra, the party’s relentless efforts, Prime Minister Modi’s adept guidance, and the commitment of party activists, coupled with the shortcomings of the Uddhav Thackeray faction’s politics of appeasement, have led to a significant transformation. Positive changes will now be evident in Mumbai, corruption will be addressed, and development initiatives will gain traction.”

In response to the election results, AIMIM MLA Mufti Ismail Qasmi noted that his party had also made notable progress.

“This is a tremendous blessing and the grace of Allah. The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen has garnered substantial support in Maharashtra. We have secured 33 corporator seats in Aurangabad, 21 in Malegaon, 10 in Dhule, and eight in Mumbai, with similarly encouraging results from areas like Mumbra and others. Just as it takes time for a sapling to flourish into a robust tree, the future of AIMIM is very promising,” he stated.

Congress MP Tariq Anwar acknowledged the democratic mandate.

“It is the choice of the people, and in a democracy, we accept this verdict. If any irregularities arise, they can be assessed later,” he expressed.

Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party National spokesperson Fakhrul Hasan Chand downplayed the significance of the BJP’s assertions. He commented that in local elections, voters typically base their decisions on personal connections and local concerns rather than overarching political narratives.

“Thus, the Samajwadi Party does not concur that this outcome signifies a major victory for the BJP or a significant loss for the Opposition,” he concluded.
