Srinagar, April 23 (NationPress) On Wednesday, security forces disclosed a photo and sketches of the terrorists believed to be involved in the tragic Pahalgam assault that claimed the lives of 26 civilians and left numerous others wounded on Tuesday.

The three identified terrorists are Asif Fuji, Suleman Shah, and Abu Talha.

The assailants, thought to be affiliated with The Resistance Front (TRF), a splinter group of the outlawed Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), opened fire on tourists at Baisaran meadow, located 6 kilometers from Pahalgam town.

Authorities reported that approximately five to six terrorists, clad in camouflage gear and kurta pyjamas, approached Baisaran meadow from the dense surrounding pine forest and commenced shooting with AK-47 rifles.

This group included Pakistani terrorists who had infiltrated the Valley just days prior to the incident, according to intelligence sources.

Intelligence agencies have pinpointed Saifullah Kasuri, also known as Khalid, a high-ranking LeT commander, as the mastermind behind this massacre.

In response, security forces have initiated a large-scale anti-terror operation and deployed helicopters to locate the terrorists who exploited the forest cover to escape the scene.

Initial forensic evaluations and survivor accounts suggest that the assailants utilized military-grade weapons and sophisticated communication equipment, indicating clear external logistical support.

The investigation has also revealed that the terrorists were equipped with body cameras and helmet-mounted cameras to document the entire event.

The attackers arrived fully prepared, having brought along dry fruits and medicines.

Sources indicate that the terrorists conducted reconnaissance of Pahalgam with the assistance of local residents.

Eyewitnesses reported that while two terrorists communicated in Pashto (suggesting Pakistani roots), two others were locals, identified as Adil and Asif, hailing from Bijbhera and Tral.

The meticulous execution of the attack indicates the involvement of trained operatives rather than local novices.

According to intelligence reports, the digital traces of the assailants led to safe houses in Muzaffarabad and Karachi, reinforcing evidence of cross-border terror connections.
