Kolkata, May 7 (NationPress) Family members of the tourists from West Bengal who tragically lost their lives in the April 22 massacre at Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir expressed their gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for Operation Sindoor, which aims to dismantle terrorist strongholds in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
Three tourists from West Bengal were victims of the Pahalgam massacre.
Sohini Adhikari, the widow of one of the victims, shared her anguish with the media, stating she struggles to cope with the traumatic experience of her husband's murder after being targeted for his Hindu identity.
“I am thankful to the Prime Minister for responding to Pakistan in kind. It is crucial that tragedies like the Pahalgam massacre do not reoccur. We must ensure that no more lives are taken by terrorists,” said Sohini Adhikari.
Shobori Guha, the widow of another victim, Samir Guha, echoed these sentiments: “I cannot erase the memory of how terrorists took my husband’s life in Pahalgam. We were merely on vacation. I appreciate the Prime Minister's launch of Operation Sindoor,” she stated.
The third victim, Manish Ranjan Mishra, a former Central Intelligence Bureau (IB) officer, was also identified as a Hindu by the assailants due to a red sacred thread on his wrist.
Family members of Mishra, residing in Jhalda in the Purulia district of West Bengal, commented on Operation Sindoor, emphasizing that retaliation has commenced and that action should be taken not only against the terrorists but also against their supporters and those providing refuge to such individuals.
They further asserted that individuals in India who sympathize with Pakistan should be recognized as terrorists and dealt with accordingly.
As of the report's filing, there had been no substantial response from Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, aside from a brief message on her official X account stating, “Jai Hind! Jai India!”
