Bengaluru, March 1 (NationPress) Former Infosys CFO T.V. Mohandas Pai visited Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar at his residence located in Sadashivanagar, Bengaluru, on Saturday to engage in discussions regarding the advancement of the IT city Bengaluru.

Speaking to the press post-meeting, Mohandas Pai remarked, “We are pleased after our discussions with Shivakumar, and we are optimistic that, with divine assistance, he will aid in the development of Bengaluru.”

He continued, “We met with Deputy CM and Bengaluru Development Minister D.K. Shivakumar to address various issues concerning the city's growth. During our conversation, we voiced our concerns about Bengaluru and encouraged him to become a champion for the city’s progress.”

Emphasizing the city's importance, he stated, “Bengaluru stands as one of India's premier cities. The per capita income here reaches $15,000, making it the wealthiest city in the nation. Additionally, Bengaluru is recognized as a global city, a center for science, and a prominent startup hub.”

“We discussed with Shivakumar the critical need for improved infrastructure, maintaining cleanliness throughout the city, the importance of well-constructed footpaths for pedestrians, efficient public transport, and the urgent completion of the ongoing Metro project,” he noted.

“Shivakumar assured me that he would emerge as a champion for Bengaluru. He committed to ensuring that significant progress will be visible within the next six to eight months, and he pledged to personally oversee development initiatives,” Pai stated.

Mohandas Pai, who also serves as a Board Member at Infosys and Chairman of Manipal Global Education Services, criticized the Congress-led government in Karnataka for allegedly mismanaging Bengaluru.

Former Mayor Sampath Raj and senior leader Tanveer were also in attendance during the meeting.

In response to Mohandas Pai's criticisms regarding Bengaluru's development, Minister for RDPR, IT, and BT Priyank Kharge asserted that he has consistently taken responsibility.

“For the past 30 years, I have continuously advocated for Bengaluru's growth. You are the current rulers; you must answer for the actions taken in the last two years,” Pai challenged Priyank on X.

Responding to Pai on X, Priyank Kharge stated, “Whenever the Congress party is in power, your tone and message remain unchanged.”

“Indeed, we are accountable. We have never shied away from our duty to create an economic powerhouse that propels our nation forward, and we remain committed,” Priyank firmly asserted.

He further countered Pai by saying, “I hope that one day, when we seek our rightful share of funding from the central government for our state, you will also advocate for it.”
