Jaipur, May 26 (NationPress) In a significant revelation, Border Security Force (BSF) Inspector General (IG), M.L. Garg, announced on Monday that Pakistan has targeted sensitive regions, including the Phalodi Airbase, executing a total of 413 drone strikes on India's western border districts during the operation dubbed ‘Operation Sindoor’. This operation was initiated in the wake of the Pahalgam terror incident that resulted in the deaths of 26 individuals.
Fortunately, India's air defense systems intercepted all drones, ensuring that no civilian casualties occurred.
During a press briefing at the BSF Frontier Headquarters in Jodhpur, IG Garg stated, “Pakistan aimed at sensitive locations such as the Phalodi Airbase. However, our forces consistently responded with precision and readiness.”
He noted that while some residences in border villages experienced minor damage, there were no fatalities due to effective planning and the deployment of advanced air defense technologies.
IG Garg commended the collaboration among the Indian Army, central forces, local administration, and police during ‘Operation Sindoor’.
“The solidarity of our national forces illustrates that India is fully equipped to handle any threat,” he remarked.
He also highlighted the contributions of the BSF’s female personnel, stating, “Seema Bhawani stood resolutely on the front lines, demonstrating that women in India are equally capable in the realm of national defense.”
Regarding the current border situation, the IG mentioned that a ceasefire understanding exists between India and Pakistan, yet ‘Operation Sindoor’ has not reached its conclusion.
“It has merely been temporarily halted. Pakistan has mobilized its army and evacuated villages near its border, while no Indian village has been vacated, showcasing civilian trust in our forces,” Garg added.
Officials indicated that the missiles and drones launched by Pakistan were not devoid of payloads. Nonetheless, none impacted Indian territory.
“Every projectile was successfully intercepted mid-air using anti-missile and air defense systems. What landed were merely drone fragments or empty casings,” stated IG Garg.
He stressed that the BSF maintained its frontline status throughout the operation and continues to uphold a high alert across the western border.
