Patna Administration Responds to Prashant Kishor's Allegations Regarding His Arrest

Patna, Jan 8 (NationPress) The Patna district administration has categorically denied the allegations put forth by Prashant Kishor, who asserted that he was incarcerated at Beur jail on January 6 without adequate paperwork.

In an official statement, the administration deemed Kishor's claims as groundless and accused him of disseminating misinformation to promote his political interests.

According to the statement, Prashant Kishor and his supporters were conducting a fast at Gandhi Maidan, which is a restricted area, despite being advised to relocate to Gardanibagh.

After disregarding multiple requests and having been given sufficient time, Kishor along with 44 supporters was detained on Monday for breaching the law. Initially, he was taken to Patna AIIMS for a required health examination, but he purportedly refused to cooperate.

Efforts to transfer him to another medical facility were obstructed by 23 supporters in 12 vehicles, prompting action from the Pipalava police station.

At Fatuha Health Centre, Kishor again did not cooperate, but his health check-up was conducted, and a report was generated.

The administration denied exerting any pressure on medical professionals to produce false fitness certificates, clarifying that only a health report—not a fitness certificate—is necessary for court appearances. Kishor contested the bail conditions, which included a bond of Rs 25,000, causing a delay in his release.

The administration accused Kishor's supporters of creating a disturbance at the court, disrupting legal proceedings. Consequently, he was escorted from the court premises and taken to Beur Police Station to await judicial orders.

Kishor was released on bail later in the evening after fulfilling the bond requirements. The administration maintained that the actions taken were aimed at upholding the rule of law and clearing Gandhi Murti Park of illegal assemblies.

It highlighted that Gandhi Murti Park is not a sanctioned site for protests, rendering such activities there unlawful. The district administration reiterated that there was no favoritism or abuse of authority in managing the incident.

An FIR has been registered at Pirbahore police station against Kishor and 200 supporters, alleging a confrontation with police personnel.
