Patna, Feb 4 (NationPress) In light of the persistent controversy surrounding the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC), a crucial hearing concerning the 70th BPSC Preliminary Examination (PT) is set for Tuesday at the Patna High Court.

This case will be reviewed by a Division Bench headed by Justice Arvind Singh Chandel.

Previously, 14 petitions were submitted to the Patna High Court, calling for the cancellation and re-administration of the 70th BPSC PT exam.

The court consolidated all these petitions into one case, with the last hearing having taken place on January 31.

However, this hearing was unexpectedly postponed, leaving thousands of candidates anxiously waiting for a ruling.

During a prior session on January 16, the High Court had requested a response from the BPSC.

In spite of the ongoing legal matters, the BPSC recently declared the PT exam results, igniting further debate.

Out of the 3,28,990 candidates who took the preliminary exam, 21,581 were announced as successful.

The commission released the results within 45 days, despite calls for the exam’s cancellation.

Nonetheless, the court declined to suspend the results. The case even escalated to the Supreme Court, where the petitioners requested a hearing.

However, the apex court directed them to return to the Patna High Court, resulting in the case being re-filed there.

This issue has sparked considerable protests throughout Bihar, with student organizations rallying in Patna to demand a just resolution.

In response to the unrest, the BPSC conducted a re-examination on January 4 for candidates at the Bapu examination centre in Patna, where numerous irregularities were reported during the original exam on December 13, 2024.

Despite these actions, candidates remain dissatisfied, claiming their issues have not been properly addressed by BPSC officials.

With the latest hearing happening today, all attention is focused on the Patna High Court’s ruling, which could have critical consequences for the future of the 70th BPSC exam.
