Vijayawada, July 24 (NationPress) The vibrant festive atmosphere enveloped cinemas throughout Andhra Pradesh and Telangana as Tollywood superstar Pawan Kalyan’s eagerly anticipated period action-adventure “Hari Hara Veera Mallu: Part 1” premiered on Thursday.
This marks Pawan Kalyan’s first film following his appointment as Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh last year.
Outside theaters, jubilant fans of the ‘power star’ celebrated, waving posters of their beloved actor, chanting slogans, and lighting firecrackers.
A significant crowd gathered at theaters in key cities such as Vijayawada, Guntur, Visakhapatnam, Tirupati, Nellore, and various other prominent towns in Andhra Pradesh.
Many supporters carried flags of ‘Jana Sena’, the political party founded by Pawan Kalyan, expressing their excitement over his return to the film industry.
However, in some locations, fervent celebrations led to minor disturbances, prompting police intervention.
Directed by Krish Jagarlamudi and A. M. Jyothi Krishna, and produced by A. Dayakar Rao and A. M. Rathnam, the film is set against the backdrop of the 17th-century Mughal Empire, centering on the legendary warrior Veeramallu, played by Pawan Kalyan.
Fans expressed their delight, confidently predicting that the film would achieve blockbuster status and set new records.
Pawan Kalyan took to X on Thursday to share his insights about the film, stating, “The Jizya tax, a punitive charge imposed by Mughal emperor Aurangzeb on Hindus practicing their faith, symbolizes oppression, yet historians have softened its harshness. Hari Hara Veera Mallu courageously reveals this injustice, shedding light on the erasure of Hindu suffering and the plundering of India’s wealth, such as the theft of the Kohinoor. This saga honors Sanatana Dharma and the bravery of our unsung heroes who stood against tyranny.”
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu extended his best wishes to his deputy ahead of the movie’s release, congratulating Pawan Kalyan’s fans and the audience who had eagerly awaited the premiere.
Naidu expressed hope for the film's success, saying, “I wish that 'Hari Hara Veera Mallu', his first role in a film with a historical narrative, becomes a blockbuster. Balancing his significant duties as Deputy CM with acting in this film is commendable. I hope it enchants all audiences.”
In response to Naidu’s remarks, Pawan Kalyan noted that while they had met numerous times over the last decade, they had never discussed films. He expressed surprise and joy at Naidu’s affectionate acknowledgment of 'Hari Hara Veera Mallu', seeing it as a harbinger of success.
Pawan Kalyan expressed gratitude to Naidu for allowing him the flexibility to participate in the film while managing his responsibilities, along with his good wishes for its success.
Interestingly, on the release day of his highly anticipated movie, Pawan Kalyan also participated in a state Cabinet meeting.
