Lucknow, Oct 10 (NationPress) With the Bihar Assembly elections set for next month in a two-phase process, Uttar Pradesh's Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya stated on Friday that the citizens of Bihar are not inclined to witness the return of the 'jungle raj' associated with the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), a period when mafia and criminals were in control.
Maurya shared his views through a post on the social media platform 'X' in Hindi.
As the political atmosphere intensifies in Bihar leading up to the elections on November 6 and 11, various political factions are making efforts to attract voters.
His comments gain importance as RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has been claiming that the electorate is eager for a shift in governance.
The former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, Tejashwi Yadav, has repeatedly asserted at his campaign rallies that the populace is weary of escalating unemployment and inflation.
Importantly, Yadav has promised a government job for every family in Bihar if the RJD is successful in the elections.
Speaking to the media in Patna, he stated that this proposal came after the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct and is based on thorough research and practical viability.
“This significant promise has been made following the election date announcement. It is feasible and grounded in comprehensive research. Once the results are revealed on November 14 and our government is established, we will introduce a law within 20 days to ensure one government job per family in Bihar, regardless of age, caste, or community,” the RJD leader declared.
On Thursday, Bihar BJP chief Dilip Jaiswal mentioned that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) would soon reveal its seat-sharing strategy and candidate list in the upcoming days.
In a jab at Tejashwi Yadav regarding his job promise, Jaiswal deemed the claim unrealistic.
Describing the promise as naive and impractical, Jaiswal asserted that the RJD leader fails to grasp the reality of limited government job openings.
Disputing Yadav's assertions that the public desires change in Bihar, Jaiswal remarked: “Development is represented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Their transformation of Bihar's road infrastructure reflects their dedication. The populace trusts the assurances of PM Modi and the double-engine government.”
The results of the Bihar Assembly elections are slated to be announced on November 14.
