Tirupati, June 16 (NationPress) The Union Minister for Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, paid his respects at the Sri Venkateswara temple located at Tirumala on Monday.
Joined by family members, he received a divine darshan of Lord Venkateswara.
The minister was warmly welcomed by B.R. Naidu, the Chairman of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD), along with Additional Executive Officer Venkaiah Chowdary and temple priests who guided him to the sanctum sanctorum.
Within the sanctum, the priests elaborated on the importance of the jewels adorning the deity.
The Minister spent a few moments in prayer before Lord Venkateswara and later proceeded to Ranganayaka Mandapam, where he received Vedasirvachanam from the temple priests.
"I offered prayers to Lord Venkateswara, seeking blessings for our nation’s advancement and the welfare of society. I prayed for the success of the government's efforts towards a 'Viksit Bharat' and for India to step into its role as a Vishwaguru," stated Piyush Goyal.
The TTD Chairman and Additional EO presented the minister with the Lord’s silk vastram, prasadams, and a laminated image of Lord Venkateswara.
Present at the event were Andhra Pradesh Ministers Anagani Satya Prasad, T.G. Bharat, Board Members Dr. Panabaka Lakshmi, Janga Krishnamurthy, M. Santharam, Naresh Kumar, G. Bhanuprakash Reddy, and Temple Deputy EO Lokanadham.
Piyush Goyal is on a two-day trip to Andhra Pradesh. He arrived in Amaravati on Sunday, where he had discussions with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
They addressed the challenges faced by farmers cultivating commercial crops and those engaged in aquaculture.
The two leaders deliberated on issues including the procurement of HD Burley tobacco, reduction of import duties on crude palm oil, tariffs imposed by the US on aqua exports, and GST reductions on mango pulp.
Chandrababu Naidu explained the current challenges in the state and the difficulties farmers are experiencing. He also briefed the Union Minister about the actions the state government is taking to tackle these issues and sought the Centre’s support.
