Tirupati, Sep 12 (NationPress) Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman visited the Tirumala Temple on Friday to offer her prayers and to serve Annaprasadam, the sacred meals, to the devotees.
Upon her arrival, Ch Venkaiah Chowdary, the Additional Executive Officer of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD), welcomed her and escorted her for the darshan of Sri Venkateswara Swamy.
Following the darshan, she received Vedaseervachanam in the Ranganayakula Mandapam from Vedic scholars, along with the presentation of Theertha Prasadams and a laminated picture of Srivaru, as stated by the TTD, which oversees the operations of this renowned hill shrine.
The Finance Minister also participated in serving prasadam to the devotees at the Vengamamba Annaprasadam Complex in Tirumala and engaged with the volunteers present.
FM Sitharaman commended the remarkable efforts of the Srivari Sevaks who cater to the numerous pilgrims visiting Tirumala.
Upon her arrival at the Annaprasadam Complex, she was greeted by TTD Board Members Suchitra Ella, Bhanu Prakash Reddy, and Additional EO Venkaiah Chowdary.
She later toured the dining area, conversed with the Srivari Sevaks, and personally distributed Annaprasadam to devotees. Following this, she shared her thoughts in the TTD feedback book, expressing that it was a deeply moving experience to share the sacred meal with fellow devotees.
Additionally, she engaged in conversations with the devotees present during the event.
In related news, Union Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Satyapal Singh Baghel and Rajasthan State Minister for Public Health and Water Management Kanhaiya Lal Choudhary also prayed at the Tirumala Temple.
Music Director Anirudh Ravichander was also spotted offering his prayers at Sri Venkateswara Temple.
On the previous day, September 11, the TTD reported that 66,312 pilgrims had darshan, and 27,728 had their heads tonsured.
The collection from the Hundi on September 11 reached Rs. 3.81 crore, according to TTD.
